As a registered player with Broadbeach Cats, you are covered by the AFL Sports Insurance program provided by Marsh.

The insurance covers:

  • Non-Medicare Medical Costs (NB: there is no cover for Medicare Expenses, including the Medicare Gap)
  • Death & other Capital Benefits

If you have Private Health Insurance, you should try to claim as much as you can through your health fund firstly.  If you don’t have Private Health insurance or you still have out of pocket expenses, you can make a claim through the Marsh insurance program.

Please refer to https://au.marsh.com/sport/afl.html for information about cover.

How to Claim

Open the claim form via the Marsh Insurance website (you can start an online process, or download the paper form)

First fill out the claim form, as much as you can. Under “Club Details”, you can leave it empty, as this will be completed by the committee member dealing with your claim. Or, if you wish to fill some of the fields of section B out:

  • Name/Position/Phone/Email – leave blank
  • Club Name: Broadbeach Junior Australian Football Club
  • Association Name: South East Queensland Juniors
  • Is the club Registered for this period of cover – Yes
  • Loss of income cover – No
  • If know, has the club purchased additional loss of income cover – No

Sign where required and send to your signed copy to juniors@broadbeachcats.com.au. Our committee member responsible will fill out the required club information, and send back to you. If you need your physician to provide details and sign, please do so also.

Once the form is completed, send to sportsclaims@echelonaustralia.com.au

From here, involvement from the club is finished. While they may contact us for more information, the rest of the dealings will be between Marsh and yourself and your medical practictioners.
