The growth of football on the Gold Coast continues to go from strength to strength. 2026 saw our Cats players hit the park with same fabulous results. Participation continues to grow over 890 junior footballers playing at the Cats.

This year saw us secure a second oval with lights and change rooms at Alan Nielsen Park – a game changer for training nights and game days.

If you measure success by finals and premierships – our club is having an amazing year. With 1 weekend to play, It looks like 16 of your 17 youth teams will be playing finals (an amazing achievement), with a number of those expected to be present at Southport at the last weekend of August for Grand Final day.

But the true success measure is the enjoyment. Hearing the stories of how much the boys and girls playing at the Cats are loving their football, seeing the celebration when they kick their first goal, hearing the club song get sung loudly and proudly, and hearing them excited about next season.

Talent wise – an untold number of South Coast representatives. Nearly 8 representatives in the U18 Suns Academy team, and 11 in the U16 Suns Academy team, demonstrating the strength of our club’s development programs.

Our senior club continues to develop top end talent, with Kalani White and Koby Coulson making their way into the AFL system this year with Melbourne and Gold Coast respectively. Our AFL Player list on the honour board is filling up, and we look forward to seeing that grow that in coming years.

To join the Cats in 2027, please complete the below form.

Please note, we impose limits on many of our age groups. We offer members who played at the Cats in 2026 the first opportunity to re-join, then offer places or run trials for those seeking to join. In some cases, although an expression of interest is submitted, a place may not be offered due to capacity being reached. The club committee will do all that it can to encourage all players to participate, however they also reserve the right to decline a transfer or a registration for any reason.

Once your Expression of interest has been submitted, the coordinator for your child’s age group with discuss with coaches to ensure we have enough space to fit you in at the Cats.

Once that has been cleared, your expression of interest will be approved by the committee. This process will happen in February. You will then be notified of the outcome and if approved, the next steps on how to sign up.

If you have been registered at another club prior to this year, you will be required to complete a transfer, which can be done easily as part of your registration (“Request to Play” submission) For more details on this process, read our Transfer Policy.
