Jay Neagle

Jay Neagle had no chance once Geoff Bower had him in his sights. The 1910mm, 100kg 24 yo former Bomber is up and away on scaffolding sites around the coast, and salivating at the thought of Foxy’s tutelage to get him fit for the expanses of H&A Oval. And It’s been a bit of a pleasant roundabout for Jay hooking up with long time mate Nick Stockdale at Broady, (ex Labrador – profile to come), and incidentally, may play against Bomberland teammate Jarrod Atkinson who is at Eastern Conference Tigers in season 2012.

Jay, son of former swannies mid fielder Merv, was drafted by the Bombers in 2005 where he put in 28 games in the number 1 jumper as a strong marking forward valued at $262,100 in dream team ranks. He slippered 41 goals 18 behinds in total which is a fair return for a kid with crook ankles from the bush down Traralgon way, where he played with Gippsland Power, representing Victorian Country in the Australian under 18 championships and playing in a TAC Cup premiership side all in 2005.

A ‘strapping lad’ springs to mind when looking at the whole package and he will certainly complement the strength and height profile of the playing group. The ankles are behind him, so are ostiopornosis, Sheedy and Hird who coached and played in their last games which was Jay’s first, and he is ready for The Next Step at Broadbeach 2012.

 Make him welcome.
