Jye Melverton

Jye was introduced to Aussie Rules as an 8 year old. He comes to us from Burleigh where he put together 190 games between 2007 and 2015, playing both U/17s and Colts footy in 2015. Picked up 3 flags along the way and a couple of players B&Fs and graduated from the SUNs Academy after 2 years.

Seriously long, Jye has a part time position as a ladderless flagpole cleaner on the Q1. (He shares it with James Pecotich).
Jye moved north this season in a bid to freshen up with new people and a new footy culture. Thus far he has found the Cattery a vibrant and friendly place.
Played in all the pre season games as a ruck/forward and found the central gap in the large erections on several occasions. Appeared eager to match it with any and all opponents despite his Elle MacPherson profile. Unfortunately injured at training, he is currently designing a pair of crutches for the taller person.

Hope to see him on the paddock in due course. Meanwhile he dreams of becoming a V8 Supercar driver - yeh, fat chance trying to fit into that space - as he learns the auto mechanic trade, and ignores his ex Burleigh mates when on lifesaving duty.
