A Broadbeach junior, Jamo won our under 18 Best & Fairest 2006 and played Gold Coast representative football in the same year. Superbly fit, this pre-season he won a club 3 click time trial in under 10 mins, which puts him the elite class of footballing athletes. His second place in a 2 kilometre steeplechase in the Queensland Athletic Championships of an unknown year, further attests to his prowess on the track.
Been missing for a season or two although he was shangai'd for one game in the magoos in 2010. We suspect it may have something to do with the birth of his daughter whom he treasures with a vengance. A utility player with running endurance and accurate off the boot, Jamo made a serious push in a comeback to footy in 2011 - for a bloke who is scared of failure, he has unfinished business. Standout performer for the Magoos in 2011 playing in just about every game and running 6th in the B&F. It's not easy turning up every week to play in the Magoos - we had something like a 70 player turn over and jamo with a couple of others deserveds recognition for 'sticking'. Haven't seen him on the track this year (2012)
Unfortunately he has a serious flaw in his football make-up as he is a Woodsmen supporter and tips them for back-to-backs. As Guru Bob once said about Collingwood's chances of back-to-back flags, "Never have so many been so dispappointed about something so inevitable." Jamo goes so far as to nominate his favourite sportspersons as Collingwood footballer Aussie Kim Clisters, and part time tennis buff, Nathan Buckley. Jamo sledges in Japanese.
