Taylor Haley

Originally from Deveonport where he put in 115 games winning the club B&F 2005 and runner-up for the NTFL in the same year. Winning the goalkicking that year may have helped and bagging 11 in his 100th game would have had the crowd counting their fingers?

Welcome recruit to club in 2008 and put in some smart performances as an on-baller and across the half forward line. Showed on field leadership at stoppages and major urger in sheds at break times. A purveyor of all things pedagogical who suffered a leg injury that dampened his season but was out and about in 2009 when he won the coaches award after 13 games. Added another 16 in 2010 playing creative roles across the half forward line and in the engine room. Hales is extraordinarily fast with his hands, and what's more is keen to enter the fray and use his quick mind and hands to get the nut in a strategic position. That skill also aided in his best ever performance on the player trip 2005. Unfortunately, suffered a shoulder injury in the first round of the Aid Cup - about as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool at that stage.

Turned in a ripper of a season in 2011 but he can't seem to avoid injury (played 11 of 18). Maybe because he puts himself in the way. Played 'General' roles across the half back and forward lines and sometimes used in the middle. Polled in both the seniors and in the Magoos afetr injury. Hales moved into senior leadership in 2012-13 during the NEAFL era playing varied roles from the centre bounce forward. Went beserk in '14 taking mark after mark and utting his right boot to good use in compiling 67 goals and winning the competition Ray Hughson Medal. Has a seriously unusual skill to position his body mid air. May have been a telling factor in the birth of his first son early 2015.

Eclectic in his choices, Hales would prefer to dine with Warnie, Nelson Mandela and Carl Barron. Was a member of the Licensed Club Board for 2011-12, Hales is the sort to get involved and we are the better for it.

Hopefully carrying on an AFL ambassadorial role in his administrative cum classroom activities in the foothills of Coomera. Likes to tweet himself.
Completed his milestone of a century of games in 2015 and won the goal kicking with 54 taking his career tally to 168 in 102 senior games, and announced his retirement in Paris just before the joint was set upon by bad blokes.

Will hopefully continue his association with the club in some shape or form.
