Jason Eagle

Fifth in a congregation of birds, answers to ‘Eagle’. Regal, strong and hard at the incoming sherrin. Collingwood six footer plus who prefers playing in front and making break away leads at good speed. Strong overhead grab and takes an old fashioned chest mark with the nut hidden from view with feet up and out in front should anybody be silly enough to back into the lead. Handy inside as well, and regularly creates something out of nothing. Could be a NFL full back but he has a full set of dinkum football ‘trams and trains’. While preferring the left can turn and play in wide and narrow natural arcs on both sides, which accounts in part for big bags of goals. 2005 - 07 leading goalkicker Irymple FC; 2008 Premiership, B&F plus 111 goals for Cairns Saints including a bag of 13 goals 7 points to reach the ton; 87 goals and 2 weeks for smacking Tinka at Redlands in 2008 ; Premiership and 99 goals at Shep United 2010.

Enjoys the odd conversation with opponents in English or Hebrew and has exchanged phone numbers with Korey Fulton when in Redlands colours – from memory they both had a 1 week holiday. First senior game of footy in 2003 with Irymple in among the Mallee roots, followed by stints with Box Hill Hawks, Cairns Saints, Redlands and Shepparton United which he left because they sound like a soccer club - not to mention lifestyle, climate comparisons with Queensland, and toolie opportunities.

Jason has been enthusiastic on the track and almost single handedly sparked the club atmosphere. You could say Jason has form – another JPod?

17 games in first year and led the goal kicking by a fair margin. Came in third? in the comp. We believe a few practivce games in Darwin are on the cards in 2012 before he teams up with Kizza and Neagle? for a big, big 2012.

Off field the the Birdman admires the likes of Frank Lampard (soccer player !),  Dwight Howard and all iron women. Is also keen to share a table with Charlie Sheen, Ben Cousins and Jessica Alba, but definitely not Macca.

Eagle enjoys his VY SS, knitting, the Crows, his colourless tatts (colour is “too way out there”), reading Arnie Schwarzenegger and rooting around with Staffies or Bullmastiffs or Rottweilers. A plumber and flower whisperer by trade who wants to become a Firey, the highlights of his life to this point are signing with the Cats, joining the Boston Tea Party, travelling OS, sleeping during daylight saving, and trying hard.
