CATS FALL TO TIGERS
Broadbeach lost this past Saturday and have been eliminated from the 2017 QAFL season finishing 3rd for the first time since 2004. The tigers caught the cats out of the blocks leading at quarter time but it was a cats comeback in the 2nd which saw the game sitting 3 points apart. But the reigning premiers don't lie down and kicked 11 3rd quarter goals to demorilse the cats. Acadmey product Connor Nutting booted 5 goals and played 40 percent of the game in the backline after the cats lost James Royes through injury in the 2nd. Ryan Pantic was brilliant in the midfield and Kwaby Boakye was great down back. The cats won the last quarter but still were defeated.

SS Loans Preliminary Final Team
Seniors 2pm v Labrador Tigers at Labrador AFL Sports Club . In: Spackman, Panozza, King and Out: McMahon (suspended), Sheers, Kempe. The club will play in their first preliminary Final tomorrow at 2pm since 2004. The cats will be looking to jump the tigers and use their pace to beat the tiger. Be there in your blue and white and cheer the mighty cats on! #makebroadbeachgreatagain

CATS INTO THE PRELIM
Broadbeach have qualified for their first preliminary final in 11 years this past Sunday by defeating Morningside by 34 points in front of 1000 people at Ord Minnett Oval. The cats were too good in the second half. Ryan Pantic was named SS Loans Man of the Match. Eddie Sansbury kicked 6 goals in a dominating performance up forward! The crowd was up and about as the final siren sounded and the cats song blasting around Ord Minnett Oval. The colts went down early to go out in straight sets against PBC. We play Labrador next week at Cooke Murphy Oval on Satuirday at 2pm!
GO CATS!!!!

SAVE THE DATE
The Jim Stubbs Best and Fairest Night will be at the Broadbeach Sports Club on the 7th of October. Details to come.

CRUCIAL MISSES COST CATS THE GAME THEY HAD
Broadbeach were all over the lions for their final at Salk Oval jumping them with a couple goal headstart. Broadbeach led at every change and held the lead until the 28th minute mark in the last quarter when the umpire paid a contrervsial free kick gifting Palm Beach the goal and icing the result. The third QTR was when the cats had the chance to put them away but failed booting 4.7. In the last QTR is was undiscpline acts which cost the cats in the end. Academy product Connor Nutting kicked 4 and was outstanding earning the SS Loans Man of the Match. Jason Sharp was great across the back line and Benji Neal was heavily tagged all day but still managed to have a impact in the game. BA implored the players on a great game they played but the 5 minutes of brain fades cost the team. This week we take on morningside at home and will be looking to get Adam Spackman, Ryan Pantic, Eddie Sansbury and big Mitch Brewer all up and firing to bolster the line up.

DAYNE ZORKO
Former Broadbeach star has claimed his 3rd Brisbane Lions Best and Fairest tallying up his b and f count to 7 senior Best and Fairest. Incredible achievment. Also named All Australian Half Forward flank. Congrats Tinka!

CATS SWING 2 CHANGES BEFORE BIG QUALIFYING FINAL
Broadbeach have made 2 changes this week for their clash with Palm Beach this Saturday. Academy Product Connor Nutting comes back into the side along with ruckmen Jesse Esam. 2 changes this week is the lowest for the senior side this year and provides good stability coming into finals. The two outs are Jai Lyons who did not qualify for finals and Damien Burke who was omitted. The colts are bolstered strongly and will be looking to beat Morningside for the second week in a row.

PREMIERS
Undeafeted champions our BAFC womens side. The girls won by 19 points defeating Kedron for the 4th time this season. Beth McLaughlin was awarded best on ground in the grand final. Photos to come.

CATS FINISH THIRD IN SENIORS AND COLTS
Broabeach Cats seniors have finished 3rd for the first time since 2004! The cats conquered Morningside at home to defeat them by 28 points. The game was set up in the first 10 seconds when Kelly Kuagla nailed the cats first goal and set the game a light finishing with 5 goals. The cats 3rd QTR polished off Morningside with dominant displays again from Benji Neal and Evan Panozza. The cats finished off the game with minimal rotations and conceded the last QTR. The win put the team into 3rd place and sets up a qualfying final between us and Palm Beach this Saturday. The reserves finished off the year with another defeat and finish up 6th. In a nice touch, club playing Life Member Korey Fulton knocked up his 200th club game. The colts were too good early for the top side Morningside and defeated them by 6 points late to get away with the win and push themselves to 3rd.

100 CLUB SUCCESS
Thanks you to all the supporters who bought a ticket in this year's 100 club and came along to support the day. The food was catered by wonderful sponsor Mario's and the day was good with most of the people utilising the drinks package at the Broadbeach Sports Club. Congratulations to all Peter Hunt with number 42, second place went to number 122 and that was the host of the day CUMMO and 3rd place was number 7 which was owned by Matt Spencer and Richard Kerr and luckily enough for spence he picked his own number. A great day was had by all!

BAD DAY FOR BROADBEACH
Broadbeach have been deafeted in all 3 grades yesterday by Labrador. The seniors started a bullet to gate scoring the first 4 goals with Evan Panozza scoring his first goal for the club and Mitch Brewer kicking 1 in his return. Labrador piled a few on but the cats led by 7 points at Half Time. A lot of descions throughout the game accumaleted in a few goals against Broadbeach and wasn't helping us on the scoreboard. SS Loans Man of the Match went to Jason Sharp who is hitting some form before finals. But the game was soured by injuries and poor officiating. Injuries to Nick Burton before the game, Luke Shreeve who has ruptured his AC joint and is unfortunately been ruled out for the year, Liam Nelson (sternum) and Jesse Esam who hurt his ankle in the 3rd QTR. The resevres blew their finals chances with a 107 point defeat to Labrador and the colts are shaky in 3rd place after losing by 17 points.

100 GAMES
This weekend Ryan Dienjes will be celebrating 100 senior games for Broadbeach. The Jim Stubbs Trophy winner will take on Labrador at Labrador this Saturday at 2pm for his 100th game. Congratulations Ryan and we look forward to the next few for the Broadbeach Cats!

BAFC WOMENS SIDE CREATE HISTORY SEALING GRAND FINAL POSITION
Broadbeach women's have created history becoming the first women's side to make finals, first BAFC womens side to win a final and first BAFC womens side to gain a position in a grand final. The girls smashed Kedron by 44 points in their semi final in front of 200 people at Ord Minnett Oval. The girls played well and deserve their position in the GF. In a sour note for the match Kedron only provided 16 players which made Broadbeach only able to field 20 players meaning coach Rohan Toll had to leave out 2 more players. Probably not the best rule from AFLQ prohibiting women to play sport mind you prohibiting anyone to play sport is not good and is one to be reviewed?!? Go Ladie CATS!

BIG WIN FOR SENIOR CATS
Broadbeach have beaten the Wilston Grange Gorillas at their home on the weekend by 55 points. In a great performance from the team to gain the win, it wasn't all smooth sailing in the game with Grange forward Matt Threwella kicking 5 goals and keeping the gorillas in the game in the 1st half. Adam Spackman was named SS Loans Man of the Match. Inclusions Nick Burton, Luke Shreeve, James Royes and Hayden Zimmer scored 2 goals each in their returns to senior footy. The reserves went down by 6 points in a tough game which now makes it a lot harder for them to make finals being 4 points out of the 5. Returning forward Mitch Brewer nailed 5 goals and was named in the best in his return from a quad injury. The colts had a 3rd v 4th match and came out kings with a 2 goal victory. Jacob Sholl continues his standout year with a great performance.

SATURDAY TWIGHLIGHT HOME FINAL FOR THE GIRLS
AFLQ have annouced today the undeafeted BAFC Women's side will take on Kedron in a semi final this week at Ord Minnett Oval at 5:45pm Saturday. As in true Broadbeach fashion, I am sure there will be a big crowd to cheer the girls on to secure their position to a QWFA Div 2 Grand Final.

GLORY GLORY UP THE BROADBEACH
A massive day at Ord Minnett saw Broadbeach in 3 games defeat Sandgate by a total of 328 points! The seniors seeked redemption sure did they get it crushing Sandgate by 94 points. The cats were too good in the 2nd and 3rd QTRs kicking 9 goals in each. In a spiteful game due to the opposition losing interest in football Broadbeach dispayed their dominance by letting their skills and the scoreboard to the talking. SS Loans Man of the Match was awarded to Benji Neal! Big recruit Eddie Sansbury kicked 6 goals! Listen to Eddie here. Rising Star Jack O'Shea kicked 4 goals and was named in the best players for his efforts.
The reserves dominated the hawks and Taylor Rolfe kicked 10 goals in a 107 point win. The colts won by 127 points in a pure 1 sided affair. Academy product Zac Palmer kicked 8 goals in 3 QTRs and was named best on ground.

MINOR PREMIERS
The 2017 BAFC women's side have created history winning the club's first women's minor premiership and will be the first BAFC womens side to enter a final series. The girls easily overcome a strong Kedron at Kedron on the weekend. Congratulations to the womens side and good luck for your finals campaign which starts next week! Details to come. Go Cats!

INJURY RAVAGED CATS JUMPED AT THE POST
15 seconds. 15 seconds was when Mt Gravatt player Zac Stone kicked the winning goal from a Broadbeach turnover. An understrengthed cats side lost by 2 points against a very strong Mt Gravatt side. Braodbeach did very well considering there were a number of outs for the game and the 3 PNG recruits were oustanding for the cats (Bobogi, Kaugla and Oea). SS Loans Man of the Match was awarded to Luke Dempsey-Ceh for his performance in the ruck. Darcy Dienjes was phenomanal in the back line and Evan Panozza was brilliant again in the midfield and down back. The cats slide down to 5th but have Sandgate and Wilston Grange over the 2 weeks and with players hopefully returning the cats will be looking for 2 wins. The reserves were smashed on the weekend with the effect of injuries taking a toll on the club. The colts were disapointing losing a game they should of won but only having 20 players and 2 first half injuries crueled them.

ROUND 14
The last round for our womens side before they venture on into finals. They are facing 2nd placed Kedron at Kedron. OPur seniors are playing at Mt Gravatt against a very strong 5th placed vultures. The cats will go in undermanned after losing Shreeve, Burton, Esam and Spackman during the week. The club will be looking for a big win to regain 3rd position on the ladder. Go Cats.

CATS WAY TOO GOOD FOR MAGPIES
Broadbeach have snapped a 3 game losing streak smashing the Western Magpies by 49 points at Ord Minnett Oval. The 2 debutants stared with Hapeo Bobogi kicking the 1st two goals of the game. SS Loans Man of the Match went to Benji Neal for another outstanding performance in the midfield. The cats first QTR set the game alight with a 8 goal first QTR. Broadbeach never looked like losing from their on smashing the magpies all over the ground. The reserves had another great win the colts fell 2 points short and the Women's smashed all comers again defeating Beenliegh by 60 points! Great Day to be a CAT!

GOLD COAST BULLETIN - WOMEN'S TEAM
A great article was presented in Saturday's bulletin written by Terry Wilson. Check it out here

CATS GO DOWN IN 3rd LOSS IN A ROW
Broadbeach have fallen to their 3rd loss in a row on the weekend at the hands of local rival Surfers Paradise. The cats inaccurate kicking cost them the game especially in the last QTR when the cats failed to impact the scoreboard. Once again it was Darcy Dienjes earning himself the SS Loans Man of the Match honours. Evan Panozza continues his dominant season in the QAFL and David King was recognised by the coaches as another good player. In the ned the seniors have not won a game since the BYE and our 3rd BYE could not come soon enough for the club. The reserves had a great win against Surfers and the colts moved to equal 1st on the ladder after another brilliant win! The Women's team was challenged but still remain undeafeted!

CATS GO DOWN AFTER GALLANT FIRST QTR
Broadbeach looked the goods after a great first QTR against the reigning premiers in front of a big crowd at Ord Minnett for Life Members Day. Xavier McMahon started the cats off with a goal followed by a Eddie Sansbury goal. The cats lead by 10 points at QTR time but that was about it for the cats after Labrador proved their class.

CATS GO DOWN TO FIRST LOSS AT HOME IN 2017
With star midfielder Luke Shreeve being a late withdrawl before the game and the cats already missing other mids Josh Searl, Jarred Ellis and Nick Burton it was going to be a challenging task for the cats. In front of the players from the 1987 premiership side, Broadbeach put up a great fight and looked much improved after the last time the sides met in round 3 this year. Broadbeach debutants Nelson Sorrenson (17 years old) and Ash Palmer (16 years old) held their own as they were named in the best players in their first senior games! Big forward Mitch Brewer was dominant up forward slotting 3 goals. Robert Blood was great earning the SS Loans Man of the Match! But it was a better Palm Beach that got the win after a disapointing last QTR effort from Broadbeach. The RESERVES made it 3 in a row after another great win! Academy product Muhammed Saad pushed his case for senior selction with 5 goals! The colts held on in a nail biter and the womens remain undefeated after crushing the 2nd placed Kedron.

COL FORSDYKE
Col Forsdyke, father of 1996 Premiership player Damien and Grandfather to Michael (9 games 2013-14), died early this week. Col, along with Tiny Littlechild, was involved in clubhouse window development which our viewing members enjoy to this day. CATS CLAWED BY HAWKS
Broadbeach suffered a tie to the last placed Sandgate on Saturday at Lemke Rd. Broadbeach were lucky to gain the tie after Sandgate kicked 7 behinds in the 1st QTR to the cats 1.2.8. Recruit Xavier McMahon was all class again kicking 3 goals and being a brute for the cats and he earnt the SS Loans Man of the Match. Luke Shreeve also bagged 3 and Benji Neal is continuing his hot form in the midfield and up forward. The seniors move on with a reality check and only 2 points. Meanwhile the RESERVES had another great win by 56 points. Omitted forward Harrison Kerr kicked 7 goals and omitted midfielders/wingers Rhys Finn and Jack Boston were stand outs. The colts had a great win and the womens thrashed Sandgate to keep their undeafeted streak alive. This week at the CATS it is the 30 year premiership reunion against PBC.

Benji Neal was named SS Loans Man of the Match for his 2 goal performance including the sealer in the last. Evan Panozza was a rock down back again and sharks midfielder Blake Erickson made his presence known. James Royes impressed the coaches again and guided the cats to victory. The reserves at last got the W with a strong side which was too good for the pies. Taylor Rolfe kicked another bag of 6! The colts were disapointing after having a goalless first 3QTRS. All teams have the BYE next week as we HOST the rep game at Ord Minnett Oval on Sunday.

Josh Searl and Nathan Quick earnt their playing life memebrships whih is a great achievement for both this lads service and commitment to the club! The SS Loans Man of the Match Evan Panozza was outstanding in defence and his leadership on the field when the chips were down was great! Re-called forward Harrison Kerr made his presence known kicking 5 goals for the match! Big man Brayde Palmer was excellent in the ruck and new recruit Xavier McMahon was a bullock in the forward line and midfield.
The ressies went down but are improving, the colts are back with a 77 point victory and the womens are still undeafeted and haven't been scored against had a 132 point victory!

CATS UNLEASH ON PANTHERS
Broadbeach has not won at Morninside for 6 years before yesterday and didn't the cats win well! Broadbeach were just far too good in the main game destroying the panthers by 80 points. The SS LOANS Man of the Match James Royes was all class making his presence felt in the midfield. Big forwards Josh Baxter and Mitch Brewer kicked 5 goals each whilst former AFL star Eddie Sansbury kicked 3 goals for the cats. David King was mighty strong in defence and whilst Jim Stubbs trophy winners Josh Searl and Ryan Pantic were great in the middle of the ground.
The reserves fought hard and put in a great performance against an undeafeted Morniingside. The colts were disapointing but again our WOMEN'S are still undeafeted and have not been scored against! NEXT week is ladies day and we take on Mt Gravatt at home! For tickets please click the flyer in the slider. GO CATS!

CATS SCRAMBLE TO VICTORY
Another close victory at home for the seniors as a youthful Broadbeach were too good for the Gorillas. Opening the game with a Mitch Brewer goal it was all the cats for most of the game. A massive hit to Liam Nelson saw him take no more action in the game but has been released from hospital and is feeling well. Broadbeach felt in control against the grange even when only leading by 3 points with 2 minutes to go in the last QTR but it was a Josh Searl goal that got the cats over the line!
The reserves were outclassed, the colts keep their undeafeted streak and put on their best performance for the year with a crushing 55 point victory. The Broadbeach Women's side also remains undeafeted after smashing Aspley by 82 points! Go Cats!

CATS CRUSHED BY LIONS
Palm Beach were too good for a lackluster cats yesterday at Salk Oval. The seniors were too slow and made poor desicions seeing them lose in the end by 10 goals. The boys have a bit of work to do with coach Brett Andrews saying its time to make a few changes. The reserves blew a 14 point lead at QTR time to go down by a couple of goals. But it was the colts who were victorious over a good outfit in the PBC Colts. Our Womens topped off the day gain with a W on the Sunshine Coast when they defeated Pine Rivers by 42 points and remain on top of the ladder! We are back at Ord Minnett Oval next week when we take on Wilston Grange

We look forward to the challenge of taking on the reigning premiers and go the mighty CATS! #makebroadbeachgreatagain
